Xylie Lou Espinoza, 31, of Malaybalay, Bukidnon, alleged that the officers stole from her P9,500 in cash during an anti-drug operation against her live-in partner in their rented pad.

“Gawas nga ilang gikuha akong kuwarta, ila pang gi-apil ang akong kuwintas ug bracelet, ug ila pang gikaon ang among sud-an nga litson manok ug mangga,” said Espinoza, a licensed guard under Transcental Security Agency.

She said she could identify the police officers if she sees them again.

Espinoza said that after her live-in partner was arrested last Sunday, the operatives entered their pad and started searching inside for drugs without a warrant.

“Apil ning akong double deck nga katri ilang gilintuwad kay basin kuno nga naay shabu sa ilawom. Pagsulod na nila dinhi ilang gikuha akong pitaka nga naay sulod kuwarta ug ilang gikuha kay halin kuno to sa shabu, bisan dili tinuod kay ako man tong suweldo,” Espinoza said.

For his part, Agora police chief Maj. Julius Macariola said his operatives are ready to submit themselves and line up so that Espinoza could identify those who allegedly stole from her.

Macariola encouraged Espinoza to file a formal complaint against his police officers.

City police director Col. Henry Dampal said that while he agrees with Macariola, he doubts the veracity of Espinoza’s allegations. He maintained that police officers in the city are “professionals.”

In Barangay Macabalan, a pier laborer was arrested in a buy-and-bust operation at around 4:30 pm Tuesday.
