An unemployed person decided to end his life by hanging himself inside his home last Sunday.
Authorities identified the suicide as one Noel Quintana, 21, a resident of Sitio Bulokbulok in Barangay Bugo, this city.
However, the suicide’s live-in partner is still grappling in the dark as to the reason why Quintana ended his life.
Lina Lotoja, Quintana’s live-in partner, said her partner appeared jovial before committing suicide.
“Wala gyud koy nakita nga igong rason nganong nagpakamatay siya. Malipayon man to siya ug wala pud siya’y gisulti nako nga problema niya,” Lotoja said.
Last Sunday, prior to the incident, Lotoja said, Quintana requested her to buy some food at Puerto market.
She said that when she returned home she was surprised that nobody answered her when she knocked on their door.
It was then she decided to force her way inside.
When the door was already opened, she was shocked upon seeing Quintana already hanging in the sala.
It was learned the couple had been together for four years and they have no children.
At least 23 people have killed themselves in the city recently and the cases have caused alarm, said Councilor Edna Dahino, chairperson of the committee on women and family relations.
