WHILE the police are busy augmenting other government agencies in preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019, their anti-drug operations continue and have arrested two suspects on Tuesday afternoon.

Cagayan de Oro City police director Henry Dampal identified the suspects as Alberto Mugot, Jr., 36, a carpenter, a resident of Purok 5, Emerald Street, Gusa; and Jacinth Nave, 29, a mechanic helper, residing at Zone 9, Bonbon, both of this city.

They were arrested while at 9th-15th Sts. in Nazareth, this city.

Confiscated from them were four big size sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P600,000.

Capt. Ferdinand Destua, Macasandig police station chief said, the covert team was able to buy from the suspects a small rectangular size heat-sealed transparent sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu worth P1,000.

During a body search, the raiding team found another two big sachets containing suspected shabu.

Authorities also found another big sachet from Nave with a white substance believed to be shabu.

Dampal commended the operating personnel and encouraged them to conduct relentless operations against illegal drugs despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
