AUTHORITIES are set on pressing charges against a man and a woman allegedly caught with some P1 million worth of suspected shabu on Capt. Vicente Roa Street in Barangay 30 last night.

The suspects, incidentally, are beneficiaries of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Col. Henry Dampal, city police director, identified the suspects as Baima Jadjisamad, 33, of Tibasak, Macasandig, and Paul Torres, 31, of Barangay Carmen, this city.

Dampal said authorities seized from them 152.41 grams of suspected shabu in 12 sachets with an estimated street value of P1,036,388.

Police said Jadjisamad was in the watchlist of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Capt. Ernesto Sanchez, who led the arresting officers, said Torres was driving a taxi for Jadjisamad.

Dampal said the suspects were not known to operate “drug dens” but were involved in the distribution of substances sourced from outside Cagayan de Oro. (Ben Balce)
