DPWH-10 Assistant Regional Director Engr. Rey Peter Gille said the construction will start on July 22 as part of the continuous efforts to restore the most affected areas of Marawi City.

“We believe that these new buildings will be very vital in the development of this community because every advancement in infrastructure will carve a promising future,” he said.

CSupt. Samuel Tadeo, Bureau of Fire Protection Director for Operations, thanked the national government, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, and the Task Force Bangon Marawi for allocating funds and providing support for the realization of the project.

“A fire station is a very important component of a community to ensure the safety of the public from destructive fires and even from disaster and emergency,” he said.

Tadeo said the Marawi City Central Fire Station will be constructed according to the BFP’s design of a modernized fire station.

Malaking bagay ang pagkakaroon ng maayos na fire station upang makapagtrabaho ng maayos at makapaghatid ng magandang serbisyo sa publiko ang ating mga bombero,” he added. (PIA-10)
