ILIGAN City ― Even when the group who call themselves “Bando Tatak lliganon” led by its mayoral wannabe city councilor Rudolph Charles Tamula was already going through the filing their Certificates of Candidacy, mid-morning today, another group is also getting ready to do the same.

Lawyer Leo Zaragoza told reporters that his team, which is called “Alyansa sa Bag-ong Iligan,” that they held a motorcade at noon today.

His running mate, he further added, is Andres Visaya, Jr., which he added is a “coincidence” as his advocacy is the use of “Bisaya” language.

To note, he had manifested earlier in several fora the use of such even in courtrooms as the judge, the lawyers, the witnesses, the defendants, complainants, etc. are all “Bisaya” so why use English there?

His city councilor bets are professionals, most of them engineers, and one is an incumbent barangay chairman, it was learned.

The group wants reforms, he said, even as they are aware too that they are up against “dragons.”

“The present crop of politicians are just ridiculing our political system,” he said.

If by chance, the group is fortunate to be given the chance to serve the people here, he vowed there will be no “squatters” in the city.

To recall, the lawyer was an ally of this administration under Mayor Celso G. Regencia until they had a falling out because of issues of alleged “big corruption” in this present city administration.
