ILIGAN City ― Today March 7, has been declared as a local holiday by Mayor Celso G. Regencia.
This was revealed early today by city information officer Jose Pantoja, in the wake of continuous rains the whole day yesterday and several barangays experienced serious flooding in their areas.
So both public and private offices would be closed, he said.
It was learned then that some roads have become impassable as of press time, particularly at Buru-un where a portion there is passable only by a two-wheeled vehicle even as a bridge at Merila is no longer passable too even by two-wheeled vehicle.
Residents from Bayug island at barangay Tambo had evacuated to Tambo Central school. Veronico Echavez, chair of the said barangay said that 90 families had evacuated from their area.
