IGLESIA ni Cristo has officially endorsed Bukidnon gubernatorial candidate Manuel Zubiri, Senator Miguel Zubiri, who is seeking re-election, and 1st district congressional bet Joeman Alba and others on the Paglaum slate.
This was confirmed by Hanne Abris, barangay councilor of Mambatangan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon yesterday.
The Manalo-led church endorsed other candidates under team Paglaum Party for Bukidnon’s 1st District, namely Clive Quiño who is vying for vice-governor, Larry Onahon, Jong Albarece for board members, Rogelio Quiño for mayor of Manolo Fortich, Bojun Bagayas for its vice-mayor among others.
Politics in the 1st District of Bukidnon has been controversial since the two opposing candidates for the same congressional post are brothers-in-law.
Joeman-Alba, the bet of administration is the husband of Representative Malou Acosta who is ending her term this June, while Alba’s closest opponent for the 1st District’s Congressional post is the brother of Malou, Dr. Neric Acosta.
This paper tried to ask Abris how it happened that both are running but she said she doesn’t want to comment on it since it’s a family matter.
Bukidnon’s 1st district comprises of 102 barangays.
