Toyota Cagayan de Oro on Tuesday through its TCO SEED continues to provide skills and job opportunities to Out-of-School-Youth (OSY) in Northern Mindanao.

TCO Socio-Economic & Environmental Development, Inc. (TCO SEED) received a grant from USAID to give Out-of-School Youth in Cagayan de Oro & Iligan to give these OSYs a chance in life.

Aside from recognizing the partnership between Toyota Cagayan de Oro and USAID the former also held a ribbon cutting of its TCO SEED Automotive Painting Assessment Center.

The TESDA-accredited automotive painting center that caters to prospective students and provides them with the necessary skill set and credentials in automotive painting that can be used in any land-based motor vehicle such as automobiles, trucks, buses vehicle body panels and parts including motorcycles that have been repaired or assembled or those vehicles that have lost their shine.

TCO SEED is a TESDA-accredited Training and Assessment Center owned and operated by the company that aims to be a globally engaged skills training institute for the Philippine Automotive industry in Northern Mindanao. Currently, it offers skills training in automotive servicing level 1 & 2, and assessment in automotive painting level 1.

With over 300 trainees since it was established on February 2017, TCO SEED has an 80% employment rate. They were awarded TESDA’s National Kabalikat 2022 in recognition of their 2018-2021 years of economic and industry contribution. 

Meanwhile, Toyota also introduced its newest variants of utility vehicles during the event which are displayed at its showroom floor with an ongoing promo as of this writing. The Lite Ace Panel Van, Pikup, FX, and Cargo are built for small to medium businesses, and entrepreneurs.
