DIGOS City ― Civilian Volunteers caught an 18-year-old male following a brief motorcycle chase shortly before midnight on May 17 in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

Captain Orlando Udalve, Bansalan police chief in a report identified the suspect as Brian Culili Agya, a resident of Purok-6, Barangay Kapatagan, Digos City.

Earlier, Udalve said the barangay captain of Rizal, Bansalan called the police hotline with the information that they found an abandoned Black and Green Rusi motorcycle with no attached plate number parked along the road of Purok Kaunlaran, Barangay Rizal.

When responding police personnel arrived at the area, the village chief told cops the suspect who was riding another motorcycle was being chased by his barangay kagawads and members of the Civilian Volunteer Organization.

This prompted the police to join the chase resulting in the arrest of Agya who was riding a black and white Honda-XRM motorcycle.

Udalve further said the Rusi and Honda XRM motorcycle along with the suspect arrived at the police station at around 1:20 am on May 18 (Thursday) wherein police processed the pertinent documents.

Hours later, a certain Donald Paller, 36, a resident of CM Recto Street, Barangay Poblacion Dos in Bansalan arrived at the station to report about his missing Black and White Honda XRM saying it was parked outside his residence.

Paller, upon seeing the parked motorcycle outside the station positively identified it as his missing motorcycle.

The police still put on hold the release of the Honda XRM to its owner pending proper documentation and process before it would be turnover to the owner of the motorcycle.

Barangay Kapatagan is about 36 kilometers uphill from Bansalan proper and both located at the foot of Mt. Apo.
