ILIGAN City ― A concerned citizen came to the Tambo police station in Hinaplanon to report a shooting incident that had just occurred in Purok 7 early on Tuesday, around 8:45 am. An investigation was subsequently conducted by the police station.

Upon arrival, the mobile crew led by Pat. Suan discovered the lifeless body of the victim inside Merkaba Auto Repair Shop in Tambo, Purok 7. The victim was identified as Edmon Bolongaita, a 53-year-old married mechanic working at the repair shop. He had sustained a single gunshot wound to the left back portion of his head, which exited through the right eye area.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was having a meal while his wife, identified as Melanie Lonoy Casol, aged 54, was outside buying food when she heard the sound of a gunshot. Upon returning, she discovered her husband lying in a pool of his blood with no signs of life.

As of the time of this report, the suspects remain unidentified. The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) team, led by PCPT Arcilla, Jr., arrived and collected the victim’s personal belongings, as well as one fired bullet of an unidentified caliber, which they turned over to the duty investigator.

The victim’s body was then transported to St. Peter’s Funeral Home in Barangay Santa Felomina, within this city.

A progress report on this unfortunate incident will be conducted by the duty investigator, Pol. Cpl. Gee Ann M. Alaya-ay, and will be provided in due course.
