IT is all systems go for local officials here for the two-day religious holidays – All Souls’ and All Saints’ Day.

City Health Office (CHO) chief Dr. Rachel Dilla said that her office has already started deploying medical professionals to major cemeteries in the city yesterday.

“We will have field personnel in the cemeteries in Bulua, Greenhills, Divine Shepherd, and Bolonsiri,” Dilla said adding that the medical professionals will be present in the major cemeteries in the city until November 2.

For his part, Nick Jabagat, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) head, said they have already conducted a coordinating meeting with the owners of private cemeteries and barangay officials, who host public cemeteries.

“We have already activated the Incident Management Team last Friday, following the Incident Command System,” Jabagat said yesterday.

Jabagat added that the CDRRMD has also drafted the security and traffic plans for the two-day religious holidays.

“We will focus on the public cemeteries in Bulua and Bolonsiri because these are expected to be the most crowded cemeteries today (November 1),” Jabagat said.

Yesterday, Jabagat said they are monitoring the volume of traffic in areas surrounding private and public cemeteries.

“We’re are filling in the gaps and adjusting the plans as needed,” he said.
The CDRRMD will be deploying five rescue vehicles, eight ambulances, and other ambulances of barangays, CHO, and volunteer organizations starting today.

As for the security aspect, the Police Regional Office (PRO-X) Spokesperson Joann Navarro said that they have already declared a heightened security alert in preparation for the two-day religious holidays since Friday, October 28.

In a press conference on Monday, PRO-X Director P/Brigadier General Ricardo Layug, Jr told reporters they will deploy a total of 2,294 personnel to secure the religious holidays.

This will be composed of 1,260 PRO-X personnel, 365 augmentation forces, and 669 members of advocacy groups, Layug said adding that they have also intensified their information dissemination of safety and security for Undas 2023.
