AFTER a long-awaited justice to be served, the suspected trigger man who shot and killed radio commentator Federico ‘Deng’ Gempesaw, had finally fallen from the police dragnet Monday afternoon.

Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) Director Salvador Radam, identified the suspect as Peter Quimada, Jr, 35 of Zone 5, Phase 1, Macanhan, Barangay Carmen.

The suspect, who was tagged by the police as the number 1 most wanted person at the city level, was arrested by a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marites Felomina Tana-Bernales of the Regional Trial Court (RTC 10), Branch 39.

Radam said that the Special Investigation Task Group ‘Gempesao’ tracker team led by Police Major Mario Mantala, arrested Quimada while at V. Castro Street of the said barangay at around 3:30 pm.

A companion of the suspect whose identity is still being withheld, is still at large.

To recall, Gempesaw was gunned down by a riding-in-tandem last year on June 29 near his house at Phase 1, Macanhan of the same barangay.

He was hit by a bullet at a closed range at the back of his head that exited to his eyebrow that caused his instantaneous death.

Gempesaw was a hard-hitting block radio commentator of the city.
