ILIGAN City ― The solemn Traslacion of the Black Nazarene is set to commence at 4 am today, starting at the Centennial Park in Barangay Dalipuga.

Despite a comparatively smaller turnout than the event in Manila, Police Major Zandrex Panolong assured reporters yesterday that the Philippine National Police, under the leadership of City Director Col. Reynante delos Santos, is diligently ensuring the security of devotees.

The religious procession, initiated in Dalipuga, unfolds as a motorcade with the revered black image of the Nazarene carried atop a float. The route traverses the highway and concludes at Barangay Buruun, the southernmost district of the city.

Following this leg of the journey, the motorcade will proceed back towards the city center, culminating at the St. Michael Cathedral situated in Poblacion.

At 9 am today, masses will be conducted at the cathedral, and devotees are urged to adhere to safety protocols, including the mandatory wearing of face masks.

Additionally, attendees are advised against bringing backpacks and wearing hats during the religious observance. While no mention was made of cell signal disruptions, participants are encouraged to follow guidelines for a smooth and orderly event.
