They conducted a follow-up operation in collaboration with the patrol officers, leading to the apprehension of the suspect, Jonathan E. Tablon, a 42-year-old single resident of Parola, Macabalan.

Police investigations revealed that both Paredes and Tablon were under the influence of alcohol during the altercation.

Reportedly, Paredes was at the residence of Tablon’s alleged girlfriend when Tablon entered the house and confronted him. Upon seeing Tablon, Paredes grabbed a kitchen knife, resulting in a struggle that accidentally led to Paredes injuring his shoulder with the knife.

Allegedly, Tablon then used a stone to assault Paredes’ head, causing him to collapse, after which Tablon fled the scene.

Recovered from the incident site was a kitchen knife measuring approximately 11 inches.

Paredes is currently in stable condition at NMMC, while Tablon remains in the custody of PS5 pending the filing of charges.
