GINGOOG City— Ex officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in Misamis Oriental at this early expressed his desire to run for mayor in Medina town comes 2016 elections.
Board Member Donato Chan, municipal kagawad of Medina town and the president of Provincial Councilors League (PCL) said last Saturday that if things runs smoothly he will run for mayor in his town.
Incumbent town Mayor Ken Nino Uyguangco upon knowing of Chan’s plan has welcomed his decision saying he respect that.
‘Katungod kana sa matag tawo nga boot manirbisyo ug kana atong gi erespito’, said Uyguangco in vernacular.
Chan once lost against Mayor Uyguangco in the vice mayoral race in 2010 local election with only 35 votes.
Chan has prepared to go against the present mayor of Medina for the second time as he announced this before his supporters at the Pelaez gym of said town.
Chan was a member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Medina straight 2 terms as number one kagawad before he ran for vice mayor .
He also served as SK Federation president in 1996-2002.
Chan plans to run for mayor under Congressman Peter Unabia of Liberal Party.
