BUTIG, Lanao del Sur– Members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) strongly supports the extended Brigada Eskwela and Dental Outreach Program held in Bayabao Central School, Ragayan and Sandab Elementary Schools all of Butig District, last May 3.

A Synergy for Peace and Development, jointly ventured by the GPH-MILF to show cooperation and promoting the educational development of children in a conflict stricken areas in Mindanao, particularly in North Cotabato, Maguindanao and Lanao areas, said Jannati Mimbantas, Front Commander, Bangsamoro Islamic Arm Forces of the Northeastern Mindanao Front based here.

“We are most grateful again to our Almighty God for having this historical event with the common objective and one mission, to attain lasting peace, tranquility and development”, Mimbantas said.

Having said that coordination with each other and understanding is needed to help the schools and community to be developed.

Mimbantas appealed to the members of Congress and Senate the immediate passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) “Kasi ang BBL iyon ang pag-asa natin”, he said.

He added that it is high time now to stop the centuries old violence and conflict in Mindanao, resolve it now not after 5 or 10 years na marami pa ang mamamatay, thus saying it is up for the congress to decide”whether they want to continue the war or stop it, Mimbantas stated.

Miriam Coronel Ferer, Chair, GPH Peace Panel emphasized the importance of education as it is one of the rights the child adding that if we have education we can do many things so as to help our family and our nation.

She hoped the ceasefire will be permanent so that the children’s learning will not be disrupted.

Ferrer hopes the activity will become a good start and continuing to see unity among us. That this gathering today is a message sent to the lawmakers that Comprehesive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) is important for the people here, so is Bangdamoro Basic Law (BBL) be passed , it is for our children who will inherit this place, nation and the world.
