THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Province of Dinagat Islands in partnership with Winrock-Philippine Cold Chain Project (PCCP) are accumulating their relevant resources to push bangus production as a means to provide developmental impact to the province.

With extensive coastlines, Dinagat Islands is home to a diverse range of aquamarine products, which most of its inhabitants rely into as a source of livelihood. More so, this could be an avenue in developing bangus industry as a scheme to generate jobs and source of alternative income in the community.

Recently, a Technology Training on Milkfish Culture was conducted by DTI Dinagat Islands in collaboration with Winrock-PCCP which aims to increase bangus production in the province. The seminar/training benefited 50 selected fisherfolks of Samahan ng Malilit na Mangingisda from the municipality of Basilisa. They were provided inputs on basic aquaculture production, to include marine fishcage culture, fingerlings selection and management and bangus feeding management to prepare them in their respective bangus production businesses in the future.
