CAMP Alagar allegedly canceled an invitation for Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano to deliver a speech during yesterday’s distribution of patrol jeeps to various towns of the province apparently because he and Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II don’t see eye to eye.

Roxas is likely going to be the presidential candidate of the administration Liberal Party while Emano is closely identified with a local group that is supporting the opposition’s bet, Vice President Jejomar Binay.

According to Emano, Camp Alagar invited him to speak during the distribution of 23 patrol jeeps he being the province’s governor.

He claimed an officer subsequently called him up, and informed him of changes in the program. “Daghan gyud kaayo siya pasumangil. Galikayan niya nga mapolitika maong gisabot nalang nako siya. I told him, ‘OK ra kay naa pud koy inauguration to be attended today,” Emano said.

He said it was clear to him that the reason why he was dropped from Camp Alagar’s program was because his party, the Padayon Pilipino, is not Roxas’s political ally.

“I just laughed it off,” said Emano when he learned he was replaced by Balingasag Mayor Alexis Quina, the chapter president of the province’s League of Municipalities.

However, the governor’s uncle, Tagoloan Mayor Paulino Emano, came. The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has been distributing over 1,490 patrol jeeps across the country. (shiela mae butlig)
