As it begins to implement the school-based immunization this month, the Department of Health (DOH) reminds parents to value their child’s protection over discomfort.

DOH Region 10 Senior Health Program Officer Marivic S. DelaFuente assures that all the vaccines are safe, effective, and approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“We are using the same vaccine used worldwide and these will be administered by trained health workers to all Grades 1, 4 and 7 students in public schools,” DelaFuente said.

Children will be asked to bring signed consent slips from their parents for the administration of Measles Containing Vaccine (MCV) and Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td) for Grade 1 and Measles-Rubella (MR) and Td for Grade 7. (pia 10)
