Rodriguez, who has announced his mayoral bid a week earlier, endorsed his brother during the barangay leaders’ assembly in Nazareth on Saturday.

Maximo Jr., who is presently the representative of the party-list Abante Mindanao, said he has accepted the challenge in order to ensure the continuity of projects in the city’s 2nd District.

The elder Rodriguez said on Sunday that his wife Fenina would run for congresswoman in the district but took back what he said a day later following criticisms from people who saw it as an attempt to establish a political dynasty.
