PROVINCIAL administrator Ma. Caridad “Maricar” San Jose is reportedly out of Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano’s loop but the capitol has remained silent about it.
One of Padayon Pilipino’s candidates corroborated reports that San Jose is “out of the loop” allegedly after a spat inside Emano’s office two Wednesdays ago. The politician, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear that his revelation would jeopardize his candidacy, said the spat was characterized by invectives.
San Jose’s predecessor Edmundo Pacamalan Jr. said he learned from former mayor Vicente Emano, the governor’s father, that San Jose has stopped reporting for work.
He also said he has been receiving text messages from his friends at the capitol, urging him to return and take back his old position.
Pacamalan, one of Gov. Emano’s most trusted aides, resigned as provincial administrator allegedly due to differences with San Jose.
A lawyer and Emano’s ex-girlfriend, San Jose rose to become one of the most powerful people in the Misamis Oriental capitol, and has been referred to, albeit in whispers, as “the governor.”
Pacamalan said the text messages came as a surprise to him until he heard “rumors” that San Jose has already stopped working as provincial administrator.
This paper checked with the capitol on Friday, and was told that San Jose was not in her office.
A guard also told the Gold Star Daily that there was no one inside the Office of the Provincial Administrator.
Employees in an adjacent office said they did not know where San Jose was, and declined to confirm or deny that the lawyer is no longer working in the capitol.
San Jose’s whereabouts is unknown at presstime.
