Emano said this days after he sent Judge Marissa Estabaya of the Regional Trial Court-Branch 44 in Initao, Misamis Oriental, a letter to ask that the court reconsider its order to transfer Regencia to the Misamis Oriental provincial jail in Cagayan de Oro from the Iligan city jail.

Emano said he has already made public his position about the court order, and her has informed the judge why he was opposing Regencia’s transfer.

But if Estabaya does not take back its order, Emano said the capitol would have no more option but allow Regencia to be detained at the provincial jail.

“Kon ipugos gyud sa korte nga si Mayor Regencia i-detain sa provincial jail, mapogos kami ug dawat kaniya, apan  kon na-a siya sa among mga kamot, mapogos usab kami nga among i-apilar ang among hangyo,” Emano said.

The governor earlier wrote to the judge and explained that the provincial jail was highly congested, lacked facilities and manpower, and jailers there are not prepared to handle an inmate like Regencia.

In the event that Regencia is transferred, he said the capitol would ask Camp Alagar to provide back-up and enough augmentation force.

Emano said Estabaya has yet to reply to his letter. (nitz arancon)
