ILIGAN City — The Commission on Audit (COA) recently inaugurated its newly constructed provincial satellite office in Del Carmen, this City.

The building is built on a piece of land owned by the city government.

In the past, the COA audit teams in the city and in Lanao del Norte used to hold office in spaces allotted to them within the City Hall and the Provincial Capitol in Pigcarangan, Tubod by the local governments.

Supervising Auditor Marilou Mampao welcomed guests who graced the event which included Commissioners Isabel Dasalia–Agito and Jose A. Fabia, who in turn, gave their respectively messages.

COA Chairman Michael G. Aguinaldo was the keynote speaker of the event.

Aguinaldo underscored the importance of having an office where the auditors can perform their jobs in a more comfortable environment away from distractions and thus, dispense their tasks more effectively. Mayor Celso G. Regencia of Iligan was invited but was not able to come because of legal constraints.

Regencia, however, was represented by former Vicar General of the Diocese of Iligan and now Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz.
