BUTUAN City — A couple from Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte who was tagged by the Police Regional Office 13 as high value targets were arrested in an anti-illegal drugs operations inside Butuan City Premium Bus Terminal in Langihan on Tuesday evening at around 8:15 pm, a report from PRO13 information office bared over the weekend.
The PRO 13 Criminal Investigation and Detection Group identified the couple as Durante Antipasado, 39, and spouse Marife Antipasado, 40, of General Luna, Surigao del Norte.
The PRO 13 press statement claimed the husband Durante was also listed as No. 1 in illegal drug watchlists in General Luna town in Siargao Island, Lambat Sibat, and in Surigao del Norte Provincial Police Office.
Confiscated from the possession of the couple according to the police operatives were 10 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 86.52 grams with a street-value of P 1,020,950, and several illegal drugs paraphernalia.
Police officials claimed it was the joint operatives from Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Caraga regional office, the Surigao del Norte; Regional Maritime Unit (RMU) 13; and Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) which made the arrests possible.
The couple and their confiscated items are now under the custody of PRO 13 for further investigation and to be presented as evidence.
