BUTUAN City — Six illegal drugs personalities during series of police operations in Caraga Region were arrested over the weekend while here in Butuan City last Sunday, a suspected drug personality not in the Tokhang list was gunned down by motorcycle riding gunmen in Purok 5, Barangay Bading.
Report from the information office of the Police Regional Office 13 states that on Saturday operatives from Butuan City Anti-illegal Drug Unit arrested of Adonis Macaheg Tajel in a buy-bust operation.
According to same PRO 13 report, drug personalities identified as Emely Salamanes, was arrested by Lianga Municipal Police Station, in Surigao del Sur province through implementation of Search Warrant, and Niel Acero and Miceforo Jamito were arrested by Buenavista, Agusan del Norte Municipal Police operatives in another buy bust operation.
Two other drug personalities, Ramil Monteroso and Khen Forsuelo were arrested by police operatives of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Regional Public Safety Battalion, and Butuan City Police Office.
A total of 20 sachets of suspected shabu were seized from the arrested suspects.
Meanwhile, Butuan City Police Information office, in their report, identified the shooting victim as Joseph Viter Cuenca alyas “Cocoy,” 38, single, and a resident of Obrero, Butuan City. Cuenca was shot several times.
Victim was brought to Butuan City Medical Center for immediate medical intervention. Recovered from the crime scene were five empty shells of a .45 pistol. He is now undergoing medical treatment.
Police said the victim was known in his community allegedly engaged in illegal drug activities.
