ACTIVISTS would stage demonstrations here today to reiterate their demand for the scrapping of the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (Edca) between the government and the US.

Wildon Barros, spokesman  of the Bayan Muna in Northern  Mindanao, said his group would spearhead the street protests starting at 8 am at the Press Freedom Monument on Don Apolinar Velez Street. The activists would proceed to city hall and then to the Magsaysay Park in Divisoria to express their grievances, and ask the government not to allow the Lumbia airport to be used by the US military.

“It is high time for the Filipino people to join the mass movement to abrogate the Enhanced Defensed Cooperation Agreement and other lopsided agreements between the Philippines and US,” said Barros. (nitz arancon)
