COUNCILOR Zaldy Ocon has topped the list of city council committee chairpersons who called the most number of meetings during the first 100 days of the city’s legislature under Vice Mayor Joaquin Uy.

Based on the city council’s records, Ocon presided over 21 city council meetings during the first three months of the new city council.

Ocon called nine Committee on Urban and Rural Poor and Housing Development meetings, five Committee on Environment and Natural Resources meetings, four Committee on Public Works meetings, and three Committee on Games and Amusement meetings.

Following Ocon is Councilor Dometilo Acenas Jr. who called 14 meetings of committee he chairs.

Acenas had 10 Committee on Subdivision and Landed Estates meetings and four ocular inspections from the last week of July to last week of September.

Ranked third is Councilor Edna Dahino with eight meetings of the Committee on Women and Family Relations, and Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriations.

Councilor Ma. Lourdes Gaane, who chairs the Committee on Health, Sanitation and Health Insurance, followed with seven meetings.

Ranked 5th is Councilor Teodulfo Lao Jr. with six meetings of the committees of energy, and public utilities.

Councilor George Goking, chair of the Committee on Trade and Commerce, and Ways and Means, and Councilor Reuben Daba, chair of the Committee on Social Services, called five meetings each.

Councilors who only had less than three committee meetings are Leon Gan (3), Romeo Calizo (3), Lordan Suan (2), Nadya Elipe (1), Yan Lam Lim (1), Annie Daba (1), Suzette Daba (1), and Ian Mark Nacaya (1).

Councilors Jay Pascual and Enrico Salcedo had no single committee meeting called during the first 100 days. Pascual chairs the Committee on Sports and Youth Development, and Tourism while Salcedo is the chairman of the Committee on Cooperatives.

Councilors who scored a perfect attendance in the city council’s regular sessions are Goking, Pascual, Romeo Calizo and Reuben Daba, Gaane, Acenas, Nacaya, and Suzette Daba.
