LAND Transportation Office director for northern Mindanao Oscar Salcedo has probibited all his subordinates across Region 10 from receiving gifts and favors from public transportation companies and people transacting business with the LTO.
Salcedo’s order was detailed in Memorandum 01-2016 dated Oct. 12, a copy of which was shown to this paper over the weekend.
“Kinsa kadtong dili mosunod sa akong memo, mag-atobang sa administrative disciplinary action and will be held criminally liabile basi sa civil service law, Revise Penal Code ug anti-graft law,” he said.
Salcedo said he memo was based on the Aug. 23 directive of LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante to start efforts to rid the LTO of corruption in line with the thrust of the Duterte administration.
Meanwhile, Salcedo ordered the recall of all used ug unused temporary operators permit stubs from all law enforcers and deputized agents of LTO for TOP accounting purposes.
“Failure to account by the officer accountable for the TOP may render him or her liable under PD no. 1415 (the government Auditing Code) and RA 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act),” said Salcedo.
