BUTUAN City–The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) yesterday said some 19,713 people or about 4,251 families that evacuated during to floods across Caraga last week have returned to their homes as of Sunday.

The OCD said the number of evacuees in the region reached 37,173 or 8,383 families.

The flashfloods adversely affected some 63,700 people or 17,049 families throughout the region, the OCD said.

Initial reports placed the damages to roads in the Agusan provinces and Dinagat islands at P85.3 million .

The number of Caraga towns declared under state of calamity increased to six: Esperanza, San Luis, Loreto and La Paz in Agusan del Sur, and Jabonga and Las Nieves town in Agusan del Norte.
