William Roa, head of the Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office said the issues and concerns that were presented during the summit have not been adequately answered.

The summit was called up by town mayor Marriette Abogado to serve as forum where the people could address issues and concerns including the uncontrolled illegal quarrying here.

Roa asserted that the summit should have threshed out possible solutions to the massive illegal quarrying in their town.

Hinoon ang nahimo aning summit nga napahigayon igo lang namo na presentar ang mga problema. Pero wala’y ensaktong tubag ang matag representante sa matag ahensiya nga among gi imbitar,” said Roa.

Mayor Abogado said there are more than 15 quarry operators allgedly operating in Balingasag.

“Of the 15 quarry operators, only three have valid permits,” Abogado said.
