Today, the alert status in the province would be raised to “blue.” This means that the disaster  risk reduction offices in the province would be on standby mode.

From April 13 to April 15, the alert level would be raised to “red” and disaster response workers would be fielded to the towns in order to help people.

In another related development, the National Police has started the implementation of its “Oplan Sumvac” or “Operation Plan Summer Vacation 2017.”

The “Oplan Sumvac 2017” is part of the PNP’s preparations for the upcoming Holy Week where the influx of vacationers is expected in the provinces.

PNP Public Information Office chief and spokesman Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos said that the National Support Units (NSUs) had their respective assignment in order to make sure that the Filipinos were safe and secured.

Early this week, Carlos said, the police officers were visible in the bus terminals.

The PNP Maritime Group (MG) and the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) also have their respective important role in the “Oplan Sumvac 2017.”

Aside from these, Carlos added, were the respective security preparations of the Police Regional Police Offices (PROs).

Among others, the primary concerns of the PNP are the different tourist destinations nationwide. (with reports from pna)
