SPO4 Ricky Amparado of the Carmen police identified the driver of the truck that was being towed as 24-year old Raby Bonales of Scions Subdivision in Barangay Kauswagan.

The child, five-year old Kevin Brice  Cabañeros, was pronounced dead on arrival at the JR Borja Memorial General Hospital.

Amparado said Bonales was in the white Isuzu Elf delivery truck with license plates GMV-683 that was being towed from the rear by another Isuzu Elf truck that was driven by one Joemar Paano.

Bonales’s truck was loaded with beer bottles.

Amparado said Bonales lost control of truck, owned by KKH Enterprises, and the wayward vehicle rammed into an establishment offering computer games, and accidentally ran over Cabañeros who was playing inside.

“Aksidente ra gyud to. Dili man nako malubag ang manobila kay wala man mag-andar ang makina. Ma-o tong bibabag ang truck sa dalan samtang  giguyod nga nag-inatas kay amo lagi untang paandaron,” Bonales said.

Police detained Bonales who is facing a complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
