Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano told reporters he has tasked capitol’s lawyers to submit a recommendation on the planned curfew hours.

The plan, he said, is in line with the May 23 Mindanao martial law declaration of President Duterte which the capitol supports “for now.”

Emano said the curfew hours in the province would likely be from 10 pm to 5 am daily.

He said the capitol was just waiting for the implementing rules and regulations on the martial law declaration.

The governor said he was also looking into the possibility of adjusting the office hours at the capitol from 7 am to 4 pm so employees could go home early.

The capitol has sought the opinion of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on the planned time adjustment.

Emano  said he was apprehensive about the martial law declaration given his and his family’s bad experience during the Marcos martial law period.

“Niadtong panahon ni Marcos, dili kami maka-katulog sa among  mismo balay  magbalhin balhin kamig balay kada gabi-e nga among katulgan, kay dakpon  sa mga sundalo ang  among papa,” he said.

Emano said he hoped that there would be no abuses during the Duterte martial law period.

Meanwhile, Camp Alagar on Saturday started to implement an order from National Police Director General Roland dela Rosa on the suspension of permits to carry firearms outside residence in Mindanao.

Camp Alagar  spokesman  Supt. Lemwel Gonda said this means no civilian can bring a licensed gun outside his house in Mindanao.
