JUSTICE Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has ordered a 12-person “centralized” panel of prosecutors to clamp a news blackout as it continued with the second day of inquest proceedings at Camp Evangelista yesterday.

City prosecutor Merlyn Uy, chairperson of the prosecution panel, declined to give information to reporters because of Aguirre’s order.

Uy said only Aguirre can reveal information about the inquest proceedings against suspects who were arrested based on a warrant issued by martial law administrator and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

“We were given a directive not to give any statement. Only the  Secretary of Justice can speak about the Maute cases. I hope  you understand,” Uy stated. (nitz arancon)
