THE Martial Law Special Action Group yesterday raided the house of former Marawi mayor Fahad Salic and seized bullets and grenades in Purok 3, Barangay Consuelo in Magsaysay town, Misamis Oriental.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Mirabeus Undatok in Gingoog City, authorities raided Salic’s house at around 5:30 am and found a fragmentation grenade, two rifle grenades, a 40-mm cartridge, 30 rounds of 5.56 mm bullets, six blasting caps, a customized electrical switch, a pilot valve attached to a jack connector, a nine-volt battery, and an undertermined amount of grayish powder.
Camp Alagar spokesman Supt. Lemuel Gonda said the seized items were brought to the Magsaysay Police Station for documentation, and then to Camp Evangelista here.
Salic was arrested for rebellion at a checkpoint in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental early this month, and one of his houses in Cagayan de Oro yielded suspected shabu. The government has linked him to the Marawi siege.
