POLICE arrested one of two suspected notorious snatchers in Biasong, Barangay Macasandig, this city, after they allegedly snatched bags here over the weekend.

Senior Insp. Julius Saluta, Macasandig police chief, said the suspect identified as Jason Lindongan was caught with a backpack containing a caliber .38 revolver without a serial number with four bullets, and three sachets of suspected shabu.

Saluta said the 33-year old Lindongan of Natubo, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, has long been suspected to be one of two “riding-in-tandem” or motorcycleiding assailants here who gave the police headaches for over a year.

Saluta said Lindongan rode a motorcycle driven by Baldomeroi Pajo when police stopped them on suspicion that they were involved in two snatching incidents earlier.

Pajo managed to elude arrest and efforts by the police to arrest him in his hometown of Jasaan proved futile.

“Kapin na gyud sa tuig na sila nga problema sa police. At least karon nadakpan ra gyud ang isa,” Saluta said.

Lindongan has been placed under detention, and would be likely be charged today. (a.l. ricalde)
