PIGCAWAYAN, Cotabato–Villagers yesterday fished out the body of a police officer who fell from a bridge and drowned in a river in Dinganen, Maguindanao.
Authorities identified the officer as 44-year old PO1 Nasser Macapantar, a member of the Maguindanao Police Provincial Office.
The policeman was heading to Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao to report for duty when the accident happened.
Police said he was riding a motorcycle and was taking a shortcut when he lost his balance while crossing a wooden bridge that was already submerged in water because the river overflowed.
