Police arrested Hajijul Guru after he allegedly sold suspected shabu to an agent who posed as a buyer the other night.

Senior Insp. Glenn Abalde, chief of the Divisoria  police, said authorities seized some P72 thousand worth of suspected shabu from the suspect’s possession.

Guru, who was staying at Vamenta Subdivision in Barra, Opol in Misamis Oriental, has been in the list of “newly identified drug pushers” in the city, according to Abalde.

He said police were preparing to press charges against Guru for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002.

Police said Guru fled Marawi City as a result of the armed conflict there between the military and the Maute Group.

In another development, police also arrested Aliasgar Acob, 34, and his wife Joy David, 31, in another buy-and-bust operation in Barangay Carmen, this city.

The suspects are residents of “Singapore,” Barangay Balulang.

Chief Insp. Harvey Abellanosa, chief of the Cogon police, said Acob was arrested after he sold  suspected shabu to a police agent.

He said the suspect yielded a large pack of suspected shabu estimated to be worth P48 thousand.

“Giapil pagdakop ang iyang wife for conspiracy kay aware siya sa transaction,” Abellanosa said.
