OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental — Exactly 125 drug dependents who submitted themselves to the community-based rehabilitation program of Ozamiz City have successfully completed the 15- and 30-day course in a commencement exercise at Medina Gymnasium, Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental.

The Ozamiz City Local Government and the City Social Welfare and Development together with the Philippine National Police, Department of Health, Department of Interior and Local Government and other agencies facilitated to have these drug surren-derers (which comprise the 51 barangays of the city) finish the program.

The City Anti-Drug Abuse Council leads the reintegration and transformation which provides aftercare services for drug dependents. The aim is to help drug responders end their use of illicit drugs, with the greater goal of creating a healthy, drug-free community.

The City’s Anti- Drug Abuse Council recorded 2,659 drug responders as of August 2017. (pia x)
