POLICE raided the house of architect Rey Galua in Agusan del Norte on Tuesday evening, hours after authorities arrested him after his Cagayan de Oro home yielded firearms and grenades.

SPO4 Noel Oclarit of the CIDG in Cagayan de Oro said his counterparts in Caraga carried out the raid in Kitcharao town in Agusan del Norte based on a search warrant issued by a regional court.

Oclarit said police seized a caliber .45 pistol and a shotgun during the Agusan del Norte raid.

A Radio Mindanao Network report showed that the raid was staged in Galua’s residence in Purok 2, San Roque in Kitcharao town at around 7 pm, Tuesday.

Aside from the pistol and the shotgun, police also seized six bullets, RMA reported. It said the shotgun was improvised.

By virtue of Search Warrant No. 01218, authorities were able to seize a .45 caliber pistol with six live bullets and an improvised shotgun.

At presstime, the CIDG in Caraga is preparing charges against Galua for violation Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Galua, a “person of interest” in the investigation into the Dec. 2 shooting death of University of Science and Technology of  Southern Philippines president Ricardo Rotoras, was arrested in Cagayan de Oro on Tuesday morning after authorities found firearms, ammution and explosives in his Pueble de Oro home.

The CIDG filed a complaint for illegal arms, ammunition and explosives possession against him before the Cagayan de Oro prosecutor’s office yesterday afternoon.
