AUTHORITIES arrested an irate American for possession of marijuana and for trying to burn down his house in Barangay Lumbia in this city on Friday.

Facing charges of possession of illegal drugs and attempted arson is Philip Lewis Yohann Jr., 39, of La Buena Vida Subdivision, Gran Europa.

Senior Insp. Esmeraldo Labi, chief of the Lumbia police station, said police  found a burnt bed sheet inside the house, and appliances and personal belongings were also destroyed.

Labi said police also found suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia scattered on a table inside the room.

Police said the foreigner and his partner, identified as 30-year old Genelyn Lacre, had a domestic spat and then the suspect became unruly.

Yohann alleged set the bed sheet on fire at the height of their argument.

Lacre’s younger sister called the police, and it led to Yohann’s arrest.
