THE vice chairman of the Cagayan de Oro Water District on Friday advised dismissed COWD manager Rachel Beja to just wait for the Civil Service Commission to decide on the petition she filed not inside the water district but outside.

Lawyer Mateo Delegencia said this even as he opined that there was no more reason for Engr. Beja to go to the COWD office because the dismissal order was “final and executory” as far as the water district’s board is concerned.

Delegencia said this was the reason why the COWD board had Beja’s office padlocked because the dismissed general manager’s presence was a distraction.

He said Beja’s persistance was disrupting the work the board gave to the new COWD general manager, Engr. Bienvenido Batar Jr..

Batar earlier told this paper that he felt uncomfortable that the dismissed general manager continued to show up in the COWD knowing full well that Beja’s tasks were given to him by the board. It was, he said, an awkward situation.

Delegencia said Beja had nothing more to do in the COWD after the five-person board unanimously voted to dismiss her for “lack of trust and confidence.”

He said Beja need not worry because if the CSC rules in favor of her petition against the COWD board’s decision, then she would receive compensation.
