In their session Monday, Pelaez asked the favor to Mogchs after Provincial Board Member Geraldo Sabal made a privilege speech regarding the science classes of the school allegedly given to favored students coming from private schools.

Sabal said he received several request clarification from parents with regard to science classes at Mogchs allowing elementary graduate from private schools

In an interview after the session, Pelaez said he wants the deserving students from public schools to avail of Mogchs’ science classes.

Kadtong mga estudyante nga gikan sa private school dili nalang unta ipa avail sa libreng science classes sa public schools kay maka afford man sila pag pa enrol,” Sabal said.

Mogchs is offering free tuitions for science classes from Grade 7 up to Grade 10.

About 20% out 105 qualified to science classes each Grade in both Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9 and Grade 10 respectively come from private schools, said Sabal.

Breza Cosiñero Mogchs head teacher denied the allegation before the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Cosiñero explained the students first requirement to qualify to the science classes is a student must have at least a minimum passing average grade of 85% in three major subjects of Math, English, and Science when they graduated in the elementary level.

The second requirement is that a student should pass the entrance examination to enter Grade 7 regardless of their financial situation, said Cosiñero.

Cosiñero said favoring private school is not true

“I’m concerned more on students coming from public school than from private schools. Paano naman yung ibang magagaling pa na walang pera, kawawa naman,” said Pelaez.
