THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) yesterday said the tropical cyclone “Henry” over northern Luzon enhanced the monsoon winds in Mindanao.

Jose Frivaldo, a Pagasa weather specialist at El Salvador, Misamis Oriental, the rains here and elsewhere in Mindanao were not the direct effect of “Henry” that, as of yesterday morning, had its center at 440 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan.

While “Henry” is expected to make its exit today, another weather system, a low pressure area, could intensify into a storm as it enters Philippine territory. If it develops into a storm, Pagasa would call it “Ïnday.”
