PO3 Jideven Embong said the accident killed 53-year-old Solomon Marangit, a resident of El Salvador. Those hurt were Roselle Macapayag, 25, and her father Ronaldo, 58.

Roselle was with her father who was driving the “tri-cab” that was thrown off after being hit by a Toyota Innova MPV with license plates YW-4715 that was driven by one Abigail Datoon, 25, of Grand Europa in Lumbia, this city.

Embong said Datoon was speeding towards the direction of Iligan when the MPV hit the “tri-cab.” Investigators said the impact made the “tri-cab” overturn a few times before it pinned to death Marangit.

Marangit was declared on arrival at a clinic in El Salvador while the Macapayags were rushed to a hospital in Cagayan de Oro.

Datoon is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, serious physical injuries and damage to property.
