The chairman of the city council’s committee public utilities said the proposal would greatly help in ensuring the smooth flow of vehicular traffic in cities like Cagayan de Oro where traffic jams are worsening.

Lao said parked vehicles on the streets have factored in the vehicular congestions in the city.

By requiring vehicle owners to have garages, Lao said cases of carnapping and thefts would also likely drop.

Lao however said the government should give car owners enough time to provide areas of parking their vehicles. (pr)
