POLICE shot and killed another suspected drug peddler who allegedly resisted arrest and fought back with a caliber .38 revolver in Misamis Oriental  on Sunday.

Misamis Oriental police spokesperson Senior Insp. Arlyne Ranaio identified the slain suspect as Francis Maagad of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

Ranaio said a buy-and-bust operation was conducted at Zone 3, Barangay Katipunan in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental at around 9:45 p.m. Sunday.

Ranaio said when Maagad sensed that he was dealing with authorities, he allegedly pulled out his revolver and fired at the police officer doing undercover work.

Maagad, according to the police, missed his target.

“Nagetaliate ang atong mga police operatives hinongdan nga naigo ang maong suspect,” said  Ranario.

Ranario said Maagad was rushed to the St. Paul Hospital in Tagoloan where he was declared dead on arrival.

According to Ranario, the Scene of the Crime Operatives found at the crime scene Maagad’s caliber .38 revolver, a sachet of shabu, P500 that was the money paid to him by the undercover cop, and a USB flash drive.

Ranario said the items that were taken from the suspect were turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory, including the revolver for ballistics examination. (Nitz Arancon)
