Iligan City — A candidate for mayor here yesterday has expressed his gratitude for the support of the families of Badelles, Actub, LLuch, and other families allied to the clan, yesterday.
Businessman Marianito Alemania said these families are big families, adding that should he not win in the coming elections, he is thankful just the same.
He said, the clans have met at the Maria Cristina Hotel and they have requested the presence of Rep. Frederick Siao, himself and Sammy Huertas who are running for congressman, mayor and vice mayor respectively. The groups then, Alemania said, his voice hoarse now, signed a manifesto of support for the three.
In jest, he added that “a hoarse voice is an indication of a win,” like that of former mayor Lawrence Cruz whose voice had become hoarse from campaigning and he rode on to victory.
They did not say the same for the councilors under their ticket, saying they will just “pick up” most but “not all of them,” Alemania said.
To note, this ticket led by Siao under the Nacionalista Party is otherwise known as the “blue” team and endorsed by Sara Duterte of the “Hugpong ng Pagbabago.” Regencia’s team otherwise known as the “red” team had to make do with the endorsement of senatoriable Ronald de la Rosa.
