COMMITTEE on public utilities chairman Teodulfo Lao, Jr has ordered Barangay Puerto chairman Ian Achas not to implement his “no sticker, no entry” rule for tri-cabs, motorized sikad, and other tri-wheeled passenger vehicles just yet.

Lao issued the order to Achas during a meeting of his committee at the city council last Friday afternoon.

Sa sinugdanan dili siya (Achas) mosugot pero sa kadugayan, misugot ra siya,” Lao said.

Lao reasoned that neighboring barangays have let tri-wheeled passenger vehicles ply their areas even without a barangay-issued sticker.

Earlier, drivers and operators of tri-wheeled passenger vehicles complained that they could not ply barangays Bugo, Puerto, and Agusan because they have to get a sticker from Achas.

For his part, Achas said he thought of implementing the “no sticker, no entry” in his barangay to ease the traffic congestion in Puerto.

Lao has also ordered the officials from the Roads and Traffic Administration and traffic police of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office to study the Achas’ rule for two weeks if the tri-wheeled passenger vehicles are the reason for the traffic congestion in the area.

The councilor said that when he receives the reports from RTA and Cocpo that would be the time his committee to decide whether to allow or disallow tri-wheeled passenger vehicles in the area.
